The Huw Thomas Gallery first opened in the mid-1980s, selling a range of hand crafted gifts, mostly sourced from craftspeople around the local area. As our business has grown, we’ve moved to an online only business and stocked a larger range. We still sell primarily gorgeous Welsh gifts, but you’ll also find interesting items from all over the world.

Welsh Gifts

Check our range of Welsh gifts, where you’ll find everything from beautiful figurines made from coal to Welsh wedding favours. Buy a keyring to remember your trip by, or treat yourself to a set of coasters made from a gorgeous Welsh slate.

The Welsh coal figures are made in Wales, using Welsh coal from the Tower Colliery, the last deep mine in mine. These figurines are beautifully detailed and depict a famous part of Welsh history. Slate is another classic material in Welsh crafts, so why not buy a set of slate coasters? All our coasters are made from Welsh slate and are backed in black felt to protect the surface of your table. The slate offers a beautiful finish, especially when topped with a Welsh dragon or Celtic design. The coasters come in a smart presentation box, making them the perfect gift.

We also have a range of gifts made from Welsh pewter, including dragon figurines, daffodil key rings, dragon key rings and pens.

Welsh Greeting Cards

We stock a range of cards, including birthday, Christmas, St David’s Day, and blank cards. Many of our cards are bilingual in both Welsh and English. We have cards designed by several Welsh artists, including John Upton, Marianne Brand, and Adrian James. We also have many beautiful cards showing some of the best views from around Porthcawl and other parts of words. Finding cards in Welsh can be hard, but not at Huw Thomas Gallery. If you need to send a lot of Christmas cards, you can save on delivery by ordering all your cards from us. If you order between 1 and 12 cards, delivery within the UK is just £1.85.

The Huw Thomas Gallery opened its first retail premises in the mid 1980’s selling a variety of hand crafted gifts, mostly sourced from local crafts people. Some years later, as the business grew, we moved to new premises and expanded our range. Still selling primarily Welsh Gifts, but also incorporating interesting and unusual items from around the World.

In 2006 www.huwthomasgallery.com was born, and in 2007 we closed the retail shop in order to concentrate on the website and online business. We sell Greeting Cards, Jewellery & Gifts, and are always looking for interesting products to add to our website, for our customers to enjoy.
